The 1.1 Stile, well, that car is woefully underpowered, except for the 3rd gear which saves it to some extent. But the Punto 1.2 is way better than either of those cars. Handling/Suspension/Steering - The talking point of the Puntos. Part of the reason why I feel the Punto 1.2 is a decent drive is because of its agility.

Here is another comparo - In this, I have compared Grande Punto's (Petrol and Diesel) kerb weight with that of other cars in the B+ and higher segments. This comparo gives a good idea about G.Punto’s heavy / solid built quality. G.Punto puts other sedans to shame when it comes to kerb weight. Only the recently launched i20 CRDi with a bigger It would also hold 3 suitcases if they aren't huge (like some of the students brought). I'd advise getting the diesel version if you do choose the Punto. It's powerful enough, and seemed to get good gas mileage. Just back from Italy and rented the Fiat in question and we packed two 26" suitcase in the luggage area.
Re: Fiat Grande Punto 1.9 Multijet although some contenders are newest, the Punto is still looking very good. I'm just asking why Autocar tested the 1.9 multijet instead of the 1.3 or the good 1.4

I'm looking to buy my first car and I thought you might be able to help me as I'm not very knowledgeable about cars.I've got a budget of £1300 and I've narrowed it down to these cars; Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 Active 5dr. Vauxhall Corsa 2006/07. renault clio 2006/07. Any advice would be greatly appreciate. Plus any others that you could recommend.
