I have swapped the travelpilot fx with a 6000cd which i got for £20 on eBay (it seems to work apart from refusing to pair with my mobile) I decided not to risk a replacement tavelpilot fx until I can get around to stripping the door and hopefully getting manual key entry working.
I could see: iPod, USB and Line in. I used ELMConfig to update the BT Module to BT/VC high + BT Audio + USB (For navigation only). It didn’t seem to take straight away but the next morning when I started the car I could also see BT Audio in Convers+, although the headunit still only showed iPod, USB and Line In.
I retrofitted the complete MK2.5 Sound & Connect system (Bluetooth/Voicecontrol with USB, Ipod an Bluetooth Audio support) into my 2005 MK2. I made all the wiring myself using an interior wiring loom of a Focus MK2.5.

The problem of the affected Travelpilot FX untis is generally caused by defective components. Some specialized companies offer repair services for the Travelpilot FX units. Repair will cost approximately between €200,- and 300,-.
